EPT Essay
Sue Jozui believes that advertisement using the bandwagon technique is
wrong and that we should boycott this kind of advertising, I agree with
Sue in a way because this kind of advertising makes people buy stupid
things because they look up to these athletes, celebrities, etc. The
only upside of bandwagon advertising is that it can help boost companies
that can actually provide people with things we need and can benefit
from. I personally hate this technique because they act like athletes or
celebrities are like superior human beings, and in order for us to be
like them, you have to buy whatever they have or advertise. I've
actually seen my friend buy a detox tea because a celebrity named
Kendall Jenner tested it and helped her slim down by 10 pounds. This
idiot that I call my friend paid for a month subscription that cost
around 50 dollars and got delivered a month's plus worth of tea in the
mail. To no surprise, it didn't work at all. He was still the fat friend
he is. This type of advertisement is just a lie to the public's
gullible. It only steals money from innocent people who honestly believe
in their celebrity idols. The celebrities who advertise these products
don't even actually use them. They're paid to be seen in the public with
that specific product. I believe that this technique of advertisement
is wrong and I agree with Sue Jozui.
